Atia Fingia
Luis Rodriguez
Hello, I am Luis Rodriguez, also known as Atia Fingia, or "Brother of the Wind." My journey through music and healing has been a tapestry woven with the threads of tradition, wisdom, and heartfelt connection.
Born and raised in the lush landscapes of Montes de Maria in Sucre, Colombia, I am deeply rooted in the rhythms and melodies of Latin American music. As a music teacher, classical guitarist, and percussionist, I have dedicated my life to sharing the soul-stirring beauty of our ancestral sounds.
But music is not just a melody to me—it's a pathway to healing, a bridge between worlds. For over eight years, I've delved into the world of plant medicine, learning from indigenous tribes and Taitas across Colombia. Their rituals, traditions, and ancient knowledge have shaped my understanding of the sacred, guiding me to become a guardian of the cosmovision of the sacred plants.
As a medicine musician, I have shared my songs and stories in places like the School of Joy Foundation and the Fundacion Pueblo Santo. Under the guidance of Taita M. Jesus and Abril Trespalacios, as well as communities like the Cofan and Kaamash Hu, I continue to learn and grow, infusing my music with the wisdom of the land and the spirits.
In addition to performing, I am a producer, arranger, and music therapist, using instruments like the Classical Guitar, Charango, and Folk Guitar to create harmonies that resonate with the soul.
My journey is not just about music—it's about connection, healing, and honoring the wisdom of our ancestors. Through every note I play and every song I sing, I strive to touch the hearts of others and inspire them to connect with the beauty and magic of our shared heritage.
